The Adventure Continues

Today I finally made time to catch up on a few pages for my Paper Adventure 08 minibook. Every so often I'll get a few weeks behind, but today I realized that I'm a couple of months behind. Whoops. How did that happen? Well, after an hour of messing around with my stash, now I'm just four weeks behind.

I love these weekly prompts. Even if I might not be on top of things as far as making the actual pages goes, I do check the new prompts every Tuesday. They push me beyond just "looking" at myself and my world and really get me to notice those things that I might otherwise overlook or take for granted.

Weekend Scrapping

Surprise, surprise -- my muse for this one was a doughnut.

Like, Whoa.

I just checked out the "I Inspire Me" blog, which Lana just updated. My mouth is still hanging open. The pages for this week's post are crazy beautiful. Each page elicited a pretty genuine "whoa" from me.

This week, we all drew inspiration from jewelry. Here's my contribution:

I'm so happy to be finally digging into my photos from our vacation. I'm still in the process of editing all of the Disney World pics. Who knew that I'd love the North Carolina photos so much more than the Disney ones? The NC photos are of family, that's why. The Disney photos are nice and colorful, but the family photos are meaningful.

I Think I Can

I'm slowly getting the ol' paper and glue fixation back. Today I merged work and play by creating a page about my state of mind as I enter my 11th year of teaching. I can't believe I've been teaching for over a decade. Crazy. I still feel like a newbie. Every year, I hit a "restart" button. This year's fresh start calls for some major changes in my habits and attitudes, and I'm definitely up for the challenge. When I started teaching, I promised myself that I would not become That Teacher, the one who had been teaching the same way for so long that she became stagnant and ineffective. If I want to keep teaching, then I need to keep learning.

I'm so glad I made this page today. It's a little bit of personal validation that I'm on the right track.

Inspired, At Last

Three weeks.
Then one layout.
Another week and a half.
One more layout.

I'm having kind of a rough return to scrapping. I can't seem to (1) find the creative energy or (2) find the time to scrap the way I want to scrap. This is always a busy time of year, with school beginning once again. Hopefully things will calm down soon -- or at least some kind of "normal" routine will be established. In the meantime, here are the products of my sluggish scrap mojo:

Here's my inspiration pic and layout for the last "I Inspire Me" challenge. The theme was stationery. For a few months, I've been holding onto this thank you card that I received from a student's mother last year. It was the perfect inspiration for this challenge.

This is my "12 on the 12th" layout. I do one each month. This one took a bit longer than usual, but the point is, it's done! I love the American Crafts papers that just came out -- so I played a bit with those -- and I also used some random kit contents from my Studio Calico kits, past and present.

I think this layout gave me a bit of a creative rush. With the weekend ahead, I will definitely be scrapping's about time!

My House Is 80% Paper

Well, at least, that's how it looked to me the moment I walked in the door upon returning from our trip. I came face to face with my scrap area after being away from it for two and half weeks, and boy, that was a rude awakening. So much STUFF. So much stuff not being used, to be more specific. So much stuff lacking organization.

So I think I need to curtail the spending and start using what I have. Well, maybe it's enough just to write that statement. Do I really have to act on it? There are so many CHA products that I've been eyeing...sigh...

What to do, what to do...
