Welcome to the Gardeners' Digest, a monthly update from the Garden Girls, the design team at Two Peas in a Bucket. We'd love it if you'd visit each of our blogs today to see what's in bloom in the Garden this month.
Most of the layouts that I've created so far this month have been based on challenges. There's nothing like a good challenge to give you a much-needed creative push, am I right? Are you up for a technology-inspired journaling challenge?
I created some dimension on this layout by giving the kraft cardstock a boost with one of my tried-and-true adhesive favorites, American Crafts Circles Foam Tabs. Under the die-cut letters, I placed pieces of patterned paper that I had printed over using binary numbers. The journaling itself was already done for me, care of Facebook. I compiled a few of my status updates from the past month, printed them out on white cardstock, and added some accents to them. The full supply list can be found at Two Peas in a Bucket, if you'd like more details.
Every week when new items appear in the Garden, I find myself "liking" (in truth, loving) and bookmarking so many projects. For instance, the moment I saw this layout by Becky Novacek, I gasped. It's just so pretty.
She has amazing skills with a camera AND with paper...and I so dig her handwriting. I think I have those very same Prima flowers, but I never thought of using them against aqua paper like that. It's such a stunning combination!
I know we've all been gaping at the new CHA releases this past week, and I'm sure that by the next Gardeners' Digest, I'll have a bunch of those products to share. In the meantime, though, I've been busying myself with some goodies from Two Peas that arrived about a week ago. Here's what I'm loving (and using!) right now:
BasicGrey Paper Cottage Printed Chipboard
BasicGrey Paper Cottage "Backgammon" Patterned Paper
BasicGrey Clippings Snippets
Studio Calico Heyday "Weather" Mistable Shapes
American Crafts for Crate Paper Lullaby Thickers
