Happy World Card Making Day! (Giveaway Closed)

Today, papercrafters across the globe unite, gluesticks in hand, for World Card Making Day. I'm proud to say that I'm one of the lot, finally a convert after years of being card-phobic. I've always loved to receive (and collect) cards, but the prospect of making them for others was intimidating. I pushed through the fear of "getting it wrong," however, and these days, all of the cards that I give to people are handmade. There's just something so meaningful about a card that is not just given in love, but has also been made with love.

To celebrate World Card Making Day, Elle's Studio has gathered together a crew of card-lovers, including members of the design team and community, as well as past guest designers (like me!), and invited each person to create a card using Everyday Greetings, the brand new Elle's Studio printable tag set:
The digital download is on special this weekend for just $2.  Sweet deal!

Using the "thanks" sentiment, I created the following card:
Supplies
I trimmed the letters from the printed sheet and arranged them on a rectangle of text-based patterned paper, which was backed by two other layers of patterned paper. I raised the letters a bit by placing a pop dot under each one. Under the letters, I stamped "1000000" using "1" and "0" numeral stamps, and then I stitched across the die-cut letters that I placed at the base of the stamped number. I used a scallop punch at the bottom of the card, so that when it is folded, the color within the card (the same color as the "a" in "thanks") peeks through.

Just as Elle's Studio welcomed me to join in the World Card Making Day festivities, I'd like to extend the celebration to include you!  To be entered to win a digital download of the Everyday Greetings sentiments, leave a comment below, and I will choose a random winner after the weekend.

Thanks for stopping by today!
