Sharing Is Caring

It's the last day of July, and for me, it has been a euphoric and exhausting month. I've created over thirty projects since the month started, and although I could use a nap at the moment, what I really feel like doing is...

scrapbooking.

That's a good sign, I think. Even though I should be on the verge of burn-out, I find myself looking forward to creating my next page. I'll be digging into my Jenni Bowlin Mercantile August kit later tonight.

First, I need to de-clutter my computer desktop. I have a bad habit of not putting anything in folders, and just letting it build on my desktop. Scattered among the thumbnails and icons are layouts that I haven't yet shared here.  Sorry for slacking. :) I'm happy to share now, though!

Here's my most recent JBS Mercantile layout, using the July mini-album kit.
I am crazy in love with gold vellum at the moment. I ran some through my Cameo to create the title.
Apparently I'm not the only one feeling gold vellum at the moment. I had a peek at the August JBS kits (going live tonight), and there's some gold vellum in there! Woo hoo!
The layout documents our stay at the Animal Kingdom Lodge when we traveled to Disney World a few years ago. The view from our balcony? Zebras, giraffes, and other animals of the savannah. I would totally stay there again!

I also have a few October Afternoon layouts to share. The first was for a tutorial post, focusing on creating a free-hand title.
The second was for a challenge post on the OA blog earlier in the month, focusing on creating a stamped background. I used an OA houndstooth stamp and some neon blue ink
A "poi dog" is a local nickname for a mixed-breed dog -- a mutt, basically. I know that there are people who are all about the purebreds, but give me my poi dog any day. It's funny -- if you look up "poi dog" on Wikipedia, it says something about how they'll eat anything. So true.
I mixed Travel Girl and Daily Flash on this layout.  I also used a bunch of Daily Flash for this project:
That's right -- OA has a school-themed Daily Flash collection coming soon! Here, I filled a 12 x 12 Daily Flash pocket sleeve with photos and papers to create a school-year-in-review project. I think my favorite part of it is the little pocket that I filled with punched heart confetti and stitched:
Yet another Daily Flash project will be shared on the OA blog tomorrow. I told you I've been busy!

I'm also excited to share a bunch of projects that I completed for the Elle's Studio CHA booth. The new Penelope line has stolen my heart!
Whew!  I think I'm caught up now.

Would you believe that there will be even more to share tomorrow? Tomorrow is the first of the month, which means that there will be a bunch of new Garden Girl projects in the gallery. I've been feeling the polka dots lately -- can you tell?
It's also a Scrap Your Stash video day, and I'll be sharing ideas for how to use clips on layouts. Here's a peek:
Thanks for stopping by today, and if you've made it this far, I think you've done your cardio for the day. Awesome endurance! :)

This Is What Paper Love Looks Like

I am happy to share that the new October Afternoon collection, Public Library, has officially been released! I love every single bit of it. Can you tell?
This line has brought about the union of my English nerd's soul with my scrappy one. They are very, very happy together.

Fun (and disturbing) fact:the photo in the middle of the layout featuring two large stacks of books is a photo of my nightstand at the moment.  It's just some light summer reading. Ha.
The title letters aren't from the collection. They're die-cut letters (using the Chunk Five Ex font) that I inked with a Tide Pool dauber and stamped with a Tim Holtz "Curiosity" text stamp. After stamping the letters, I misted over them lightly, causing them to fade a bit.  I like the effect!

Here's a peek at more Public Library lovelies:
Be sure to check out the October Afternoon blog for more Public Library projects as well as projects from more new releases.

Gardeners' Digest: July Garden Girl Blog Hop

Welcome to the Gardeners' Digest, a monthly update from the Garden Girls, the design team at Two Peas in a Bucket. We'd love it if you'd "hop" by each of our blogs today to see what's in bloom in the Garden this month.  If you've been following the hop so far, you were just visiting the Two Peas in a Bucket blog, where the hop begins.
My most recent Scrap Your Stash video focuses on...
frames! Check out the full layout and video at Two Peas in a Bucket.
Every trip through the gallery at Two Peas is always worthwhile. I am in awe at how these peas have stepped up to bold and patterned backgrounds and made them work beautifully on these layouts:
Top: Diana Waite and Laura Craigie; bottom: Stacy Cohen and Spica
I am loving the new "Hello Again" collection from Carta Bella!

I just got some of the new Fancy Pants chalk tape in the mail today. I can't wait to use it!
I also got some BasicGrey Capture Labels, and I had no idea how many were in a single pack! I also love that they are matte rather than glossy, which means that they'll be printer-friendly.
The new Echo Park Photo Freedom Vol. 2 collection has also been calling my name (and I have answered).
These Marine Foam Thickers are perfect for my summer pages. Surely I can get a few more in before school begins in a few weeks!
To thank you for visiting today, I'd love to offer you a chance to win a $10 Two Peas in a Bucket gift certificate. Just leave a comment on this post (including your Two Peas username) before 6:00 p.m. Hawaii time on Friday, July 26, and I will select one lucky winner.

The next stop on the blog hop is Jen Gallacher, or if you'd like to start at the beginning of the hop, you can head to the Two Peas in a Bucket blog.  Thanks for hopping by today!

Studio Calico Toolbox Blog Hop

When it comes to using most tools, I'm pretty much inept, but a new Studio Calico class suggests that there may be hope for me yet!
Luckily, there are no chainsaws or wrenches involved. I think.

I am excited and honored to be a contributor to Studio Calico's Toolbox! The class includes four idea-packed weeks focused on digital, mixed media, stitching, and misting techniques.

Shanna Noel (digital), C√©line Navarro (mixed media), Amy Tan (stitching), and Geralyn Sy (misting) will each devote one week in August to teaching you the ins and outs of their favorite techniques.
Can you guess which week I'll be contributing to for the class?
I'll be sharing a project that combines a crafty trio: masking, punched shapes, and misting. You know I love to get my mist on (and all over myself, to boot).

Here's a sneak of my layout:
The class also features exclusive digital content and cut files that had me grinning from ear to ear when I first beheld them. Here's a glimpse at a few of the exclusives (yep, there are even more!):
Now here's the kicker: through July 24, Studio Calico is offering a sweet bonus for everyone who signs up for Toolbox (including those already registered) -- they'll be able to give a FREE (!!!) spot in the class to a friend.

Awesome, right?

If you aren't yet enrolled in the class, and would like a chance to win a free spot for yourself, be sure to stop by Geralyn Sy's blog, and then head to the Studio Calico blog, where you'll find more class sneaks and giveaways!

If you'd like to check out some class project sneaks, here is a list of today's blog hop participants:

Dear CHAnta (Part II)

Dear CHAnta,

Here are few more sneaks that you can feel free to "sneak" into my cart when they appear at Two Peas (along with a gift certificate so that I don't have to take out a second mortgage).

(1) Webster's Pages is seriously going for the overachiever award this CHA. My eyes are goggling with every new sneak!
(2) BasicGrey's "Persimmon" line is perfect for fall pages and Halloween pages alike, but it'll last beyond the change of seasons. I love that there's blue in it, and that it's not a generic fall-themed line. It combines pretty and freaky and cute, somehow.

(3) I can't wait to see the full reveal of the Amy Tangerine and Dear Lizzy lines!

Okay, okay, I do confess to peeking at a few lines that haven't yet been revealed officially....but if you saw them, CHAnta, you'd understand.

I reserve the right to add to this list. A lot.

J.
