February SC Layouts

March is, supposedly, in like a lion and out like a lamb, which gives me something to look forward to over the next few weeks, as February has been a butt-kicker from start to finish. Of course, it's been full of wonder and laughter and joy and relief, but it's also been full of stress and worry and anxiety and exhaustion. Maybe those are best kinds of months, though -- the ones that keep you hyper-aware of the business of living.

I've honestly had very little creative time to spare over the past month. Layouts that usually would take me just an hour or two have taken days -- weeks, in some cases -- to complete, as I have only had a minute here and a minute there to devote to them. Today, however, as the tradewinds let up and the vog descended on the island chain once again, my body went on strike and insisted that I slow down. Despite looking a little bit like the undead, I was finally able to put the finishing touches on my February Scraptastic Club layouts.

I'll be sharing more details about these pages on the Scraptastic Club blog this week.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Re-Routed

After some router issues, I'm finally back and ready to play some catch-up.

Let's talk Valentine's Day!
My heart isn't hardened to Valentine's Day, though I do think it's overrated. The compulsory nature of this holiday irritates me, but on the the other hand, I do love hearts and bright red and pink.
There is pressure that accompanies V-Day, sure, but there are also perks. For instance, I won't reject a husband who enters the house bearing flowers and who -- more importantly -- says, "Relax today. Spend the day scrapbooking."

He's a keeper.

So is this sweet and mischievous guy:
Both layouts incorporate tags and accents from the February Elle's Studio kit. You can find the kit in the Elle's Studio shop, along with these extras
Regardless of whether February 14 is Valentine's Day or any day for you, enjoy it!

Is It Summer Yet?

I am all too conscious of the fact that time flies, but the fact that January is done, done, done is fine by me. The days did not go by fast enough, if you ask me. I'm looking forward to summer already -- and that is a dangerous thought, coming from a teacher who knows that once summer-thoughts enter the mind, they replicate until a state of general malaise sets in, cured only by sunshine, sand, and sleeping in.

Thank goodness there was no lack of sunshiny brights and oceanic hues in the January Scraptastic "Just a Girl" kit (sold out, unsurprisingly) and add-on.
The last project is the first layout of what I hope will be twelve of its kind-- one per month this year.  I used to love creating "12 on the 12th" layouts, but since I am kind of a space cadet when it comes to remembering to actually take 12 photos on the 12th, I decided that a month-in-review approach might be a more successful approach. Here's hoping I stick with it!
